Ralph's Myth Redesign Week 1 Progress

Intro
This is all my Dev-Brained perspective talking. My own diary and to anyone else who wants to read the journey.
Quest Window Work
Weekly progress reports are a pretty smart idea, now if I wrote down what I did during the week... Call it perfectionist tendencies but I care about the depth and amount of thought I put into my silly little stories, quests, and NPCs. It helps makes a world feel more alive when competing interests exist not to spite the player but simply to exist around the player.
Wow Resi all those words what are you saying? I'm saying I've been spending the last week re-designing quest structure and adding all of the Fesfel starter quests. Those quests need to be easy to understand for the player. The Quest window has automatic elements for on-the-fly quest tracking. Here's an example. A list of NPCs can be asked for information. This helps the player in the early game know that they can talk to many of the people they know in the game that can help point them to where they might need to go or can advance the quest. There's plenty of NPCs not shown to the player as well.

Fesfel Questlines Work
Right now Fesfel has a few more buildings and quests that need to be added. I'm wrapping up "The Hole in the Mine" quest now. This one was a challenge to implement as it's a quest that intersects with open exploration. You can find this quest by yourself or by finding the quest giver. So that requires quest tracking to know if - for relevant reasons - you haven't met the quest giver. You might not have the quest giver as an option to talk to in the above screenshots until you meet them. Some quest steps won't be shown unless you know the quest giver. That kind of stuff.
Since I was re-designing the quest with that in mind I added a bunch of lore to the game through various people Ralph knows so he can learn more about the mine. The player can learn too, I guess, if they want to. (Is joke). Anyway, the current quests that leaves me to go through are:
- Wrap up Hole in the Mine
- Start Bren's Buyout
- Start Tofinn's Taxes
- Start Graytown and Fort Gray intro areas.
Once those are done, I'll move next to working on Fort Gray and progressing the main quest into Mantano, but we'll make a detour at Graytown on the way. So the roadmap is (Fesfel Quests, Fort Gray Cutscenes, Graytown Quests [which should be importing previously completed work])
